It injured all three men and triggered a huge five-hour operation to track the predator. Wildlife specialists finally tranquillised the leopard with a single dart at around 2pm, officials said. The third man who was attacked by the beast was forest volunteer Rakesh. He had been called out to check bushes where residents had spotted the animal, but was pounced on by the leopard. The leopard then ran to the wine shop where it went for Fateh and Sanjay. Sanjay suffered claw injuries to his hand, shoulder and nose and the two other men were also injured by the beast. Police cleared 1,640ft cordon around the shop and shut the main market while they called in a specialist animal rescue unit. The animal was a five-year-old male, officials said. He will be given medical checks before being returned to the wild. Comment now
