And if you happen to know anything about that secret Twin Peaks game in development, he’d especially like to talk. Sign in to your TheGamer account A Famitsu interview between Shift Up CEO Kim Hyun‑tae and PlatinumGames president Atsushi Inaba suggests that the Bayonetta collaboration in Stellar Blade Complete Edition may be far more significant than just a set of crossover costumes. What began as an electric Tokyo Game Show 2026 reveal resulted in a meeting of the minds on creative intent, future collaboration, and the possibility of expanding Bayonetta’s world with help from the Stellar Blade team. Hyun-tae says he had always wanted to collaborate with Bayonetta, praising it as one of the most important games in his life. He explains that development for the Nintendo Switch 2 created the perfect moment to reach out. Inaba responds by revealing that PlatinumGames had also been exploring ways to collaborate, making the upcoming Switch 2 port ideal timing. At one point, Hyun-tae directly asks to design characters for PlatinumGames next title. Inaba laughs, but admits the idea sounds like it would sell well. Both creators say new ideas often emerge from candid conversations, and neither rules out the possibility of direct collaboration. At one point, the Shift Up CEO jokes that he would work at a desk inside PlatinumGames every day if given the chance, while Inaba says the two studios could become “ten times more powerful” if they worked together. Platinum Says Shift Up‑Designed Characters Would Sell Well The collaboration reveals how closely the teams think when it comes to character design. Hyun-tae says he held back his impulses to ensure the designs fit both Bayonetta and Stellar Blade. The original outfit, designed by the Stellar Blade team, is eye-opening and striking in a way that's unmistakably made with love for the witch while still balancing the core of the pre-existing character design. The interview also touches on the technical challenges of bringing Stellar Blade Complete Edition to Switch 2. The interview goes on to reveal that optimizing the game for handheld and docked modes was difficult, but the team achieved nearly 60 FPS performance. He highlights that all data is included in the physical cartridge and not as a key-card, which he believes is meaningful in the current market. Inaba calls the Switch 2 a system with tremendous potential and praises the visual detail of the collaboration outfits on the device. While Inaba declines to comment on Bayonetta’s next move, he says PlatinumGames has a strong desire to expand her world. As Hyun-tae makes sure to say he will be asking more questions off the record, it's clear that the Bayonetta collaboration in Stellar Blade Complete Edition may be the start of a much larger partnership between the two.
