She's lucky for me, I'll keep dodging: Govinda on wife Ssunita's cheating claims

Actor Govinda has broken his silence regarding allegations of infidelity levelled against him by his wife, Sunita Ahuja, claiming that third parties are manipulating her and influencing her public statements. Acknowledging her contribution to his life and career despite the ongoing friction, the actor credited her for bringing him good fortune and stated that he would give her space to express herself."I have eaten so much into her luck that whatever name and respect I've earned is because of my mother's blessings, and my wife, because of whom I've never looked back. So, she's been lucky for me," Govinda said in an interview with ABP Live.He highlighted that he intends to handle the allegations with restraint, adding, "I'll keep dodging her claims till those who are influencing her get dizzy. That's when they'll realise they've messed with Govinda. Bitterness will never lead to sweetness. Once this phase passes, people will say I behaved respectfully. I'm not falling into their trap."The actor explained that he had anticipated facing such a scenario seven to eight years ago and preferred to remain silent rather than say anything that could damage his wife's reputation.Addressing the public reactions to the allegations, Govinda emphasised that he was choosing not to focus on what people were saying, describing it as a passing phase. He mentioed that while "everybody's reacting this way across the country, especially ladies," he refrains from objecting to their responses. The actor explained that he prefers to keep "quiet and respectful" to prevent lasting damage, adding, "once this phase is over, the wounds will remain. I don't want to cast any doubt on my behaviour, unless someone forces me to."Govinda highlighted that those close to an individual can often be influenced by external forces, claiming he had anticipated such a scenario years ago. "It's in my nature not to expose someone so that they start feeling embarrassed. I said seven to eight years ago that I'd go through something like this," he said, adding that a bad reputation has frequently been linked to his name. The actor maintained that raising his concerns about outside influence with Sunita would not help her understand the situation right now.Reflecting on past challenges during the interview, Govinda also recalled a recent incident in which he accidentally shot himself in the foot. He revealed that he subsequently turned down film offers requiring him to portray a one-legged character and said, "I'm very grateful that even when I got shot, I could refuse many roles of playing a one-legged guy, even for Rs 20-22 crore."The actor's comments follow Sunita sharing pictures from a temple visit in Kolkata last month. In her caption, she expressed a desire to see the "demons" in her life eliminated and appealed to women and Gen-Z for support, suggesting that her home was falling apart. She had also insinuated that Govinda is involved in an alleged affair with Komal Rani, his younger co-star in his upcoming home production, Roopa.- Ends
