‘Sheriff Country’ Sets Backdoor Pilot for Medical Spinoff Starring ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Actor Noah Reid

Noah Reid will guest star in two upcoming episodes of “Sheriff Country,” which will function as a backdoor pilot for a spinoff set in the same universe. Pending a decision from CBS, Reid would potentially be a series regular on a medical drama set in the same universe as “Sheriff Country” and “Fire Country.” If greenlit, the series will follow a team of healthcare professionals in Edgewater, Calif. Reid will play Dr. Hudson “Hud” Henshaw, the chief of emergency medicine at Edgewater Memorial Hospital aka “Edge Med.” The official character description reads, “Charming and quick-witted, but rough-around-the-edges, Hud was born and raised in the outlaw hinterland known as Deadwater. He is the proud son of convicted felons, yet refused to take the family’s drug money to pay for medical school. He is a passionate doctor who embodies his oath to ‘first do no harm,’ yet is not one to shy away from a good bar fight.
