Shepherd attacked by Palestinians in West Bank, gunshots fired at Israeli settlement

ByJERUSALEM POST STAFFAUGUST 15, 2026 21:59Two separate attacks took place in the West Bank over the weekend, according to United Hatzalah, citing the Binyamin Regional Council Spokesperson.In the first, which occured earlier on Saturday, residents of the Psagot settlement heard gunshots, later finding a bullet near a synagogue inside the settlement.The Psagot police chief arrived on scene to investigate, alongside IDF soldiers and police officers.In the second incident, a shepherd was attacked by a group of around 30 masked Palestinians at around 8:00 p.m.According to the Binyamin Regional Council, the attackers then began rioting and set up several roadblocks in the area.The Jewish neighborhood of Neveh Ya’acov with the settlement of Psagot in the background (credit: ANAV SILVERMAN)Attacks becoming more common despite lack of public attentionThe council noted that both forms of attacks are becoming more common despite rarely receiving public attention."The prominence of extreme events while ignoring ongoing Arab terrorism creates a partial picture of the security reality in Benjamin, Judea and Samaria," the council added.Follow us on Google
