Khadija Shaw September 15, 2026 LONDON, England (CMC) — Khadija “Bunny” Shaw continued her impressive start to the Women’s Super League (WSL), scoring a goal and providing an assist as Manchester City demolished Aston Villa 4-1 on Sunday to extend their unbeaten start. The Jamaican international and reigning Golden Boot winner provided an assist to Mary Fowler in the first half before finding the back of the net late in the second half for her third goal in two matches. Man City got on the scoresheet first when Aston Villa goalkeeper Akane Okuma punched a clearance in the air, but the ball fell to the feet of City defender Jade Rose who drilled home from six yards in the 14th minute. Fowler extended their lead in the 29th minute, arrowing in from the edge of the area after playing a neat one-two with Shaw. Aston Villa’s Amalie Vangsgaard pulled a goal back just before half-time, stretching to prod a low Chasity Grant delivery past goalkeeper Ayaka Yamashita to make it 2-1 in the 42nd minute. Shaw was unlucky not to score in the second half, sending a header against the bar, but she got a goal of her own when she sent a deft dink over Okuma in the 79th minute. City then rounded off an outstanding display when a Lauren Hemp effort deflected off Mathilde Harviken and went past Okuma in stoppage time.
