Shakira Concert in Costa Rica Approved for January 2027 but Not Confirmed

Shakira could perform in Costa Rica on January 31, 2027, after the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce (MEIC) approved a presale plan for 53,114 tickets to a concert at the National Stadium in La Sabana, San José. The show is scheduled for 8 p.m. on a Sunday night as part of the Colombian singer’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour 2027. Eticket is the only platform authorized to sell tickets under the approved plan. The approval is not a confirmation that the concert will happen. According to the ministry, the performance must still be formally announced by Shakira and the production company. MEIC issued the authorization through Administrative Resolution and it approves the installment sales plan submitted by Two Shows S.R.L., the company producing the event. Costa Rican fans have seen this before. In September 2024, the ministry authorized a presale of 51,446 tickets for a Shakira concert at the same stadium on March 27, 2025. That show never took place, and Shakira has not performed in Costa Rica since April 3, 2011. The ministry reviews presale plans because buyers pay before a show is guaranteed. Its approval covers the commercial terms of selling tickets in advance, not a commitment from the artist to perform. The distinction matters. Earlier this month, a concert by Colombian singer Beéle was canceled hours before showtime after authorities denied its permit. Ticket prices, seating sections and on-sale dates have not been released. The ministry’s announcement also covered presales for concerts by Fonseca, Miguel Mateos and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. Shakira’s current tour opened on February 11, 2025, in Rio de Janeiro and takes its name from her 2024 album, her first studio record in seven years. Anyone hoping to attend should wait for an official announcement from the artist or the producer and buy only through the authorized ticketing platform.
