Shaboozey and Gunna Light Up the 2026 VMAs (Literally) With ‘High Noon’ Performance

Kevin Winter/Getty Images Shaboozey took the stage at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards for a slick performance of “High Noon” and “Cowgirl” alongside rapper Gunna, marking the pair’s debut performance of their runaway hit. Opening in a saloon, Shaboozey rapped along to the lyrics of “Cowgirl” as backup performers played cards, danced, and even got into a bar fight. Then, the scene went dark as a Wanted poster of ‘Boozey was slapped down on the barroom’s table. Shaboozey left the saloon and was joined by Gunna, who popped out of a jet-black carriage for their collaboration “High Noon.” The set was fiery; and that’s not just because the saloon caught on fire at the end. Trending Stories “Cowgirl” is nominated for two MTV VMAs this year: Best Country and Best Cinematography. “Cowgirl” is the second single from Shaboozey’s fourth studio album The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, which arrived in late July. Produced by Sean Cook and Nevin Sastry, the guitar-laden track peaked at Number 11 on Billboard‘s U.S. Hot Country Songs chart and is accompanied by a Western-inspired music video co-directed by Shaboozey and Logan Meis, starring Summer House personality Ciara Miller (who introduced ‘Boozey’s performance tonight). Shaboozey is currently on the road as part of his headlining Outlaws Never Die Tour, which runs through Oct. 27, with remaining stops including Boston, Washington D.C., New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, and a finale show in Los Angeles.
