Sexual assault, acts of lasciviousness cases filed vs Marikina Rep. Marcy Teodoro

Marikina City government (1st UPDATE) The cases stem from the complaints filed by two female police officers who previously served as the lawmaker's security personnel MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Tuesday, August 18, that its prosecutors filed cases for sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness against Marikina City 1st District Representative Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro. DOJ spokesperson Raphael Martinez confirmed the filing against Teodoro for four counts of sexual assault and one count of acts of lasciviousness. This was in line with the complaints filed by two female police officers who previously served as the lawmaker’s security personnel. Martinez said the sexual assault charge was filed with the Marikina City Regional Trial Court, while the acts of lasciviousness cases were filed with the Metropolitan Trial Court. In 2025, one of the cops filed a complaint against the former Marikina mayor for allegedly committing acts of lasciviousness (Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code or RPC). She claimed that the alleged incident happened during the early period of her assignment. Meanwhile, the second complainant alleged that the lawmaker committed rape by assault (Article 266-a of the RPC) and acts of lasciviousness. The cop first served as a close-in aide of Teodoro’s wife, Marikina Mayor Maan Teodoro, and was later assigned to the lawmaker. Last year, Teodoro denied the complaints, calling them malicious and baseless. He said then that they were trumped-up and were meant to tarnish his reputation.
