Sewage leak on railway track causes Overground and Tube disruption

A sewage leak was causing disruption to two key London public transport services on Friday afternoon. A leak on the railway line at Watford High Street caused a partial suspension of the Overground’s Lioness line. The problem was also affecting the Tube’s Bakerloo line, which was experiencing severe delays between Stonebridge Park and Harrow & Wealdstone.It comes as National Rail warned a fire next to the track between Watford Junction and London Euston meant trains running between the stations could be cancelled. Meanwhile, the Elizabeth line was suffering a seventh day of disruption between Paddington and Heathrow due to vandalism to railway equipment around Kensal Green.A trackside fire caused overhead wire damage last week, leading to significant disruption for passengers.
