‘Several victims’ as school bus crashes in France

A school bus has crashed in eastern France with “several victims” reported, the country’s education minister has said. The incident took place on Friday morning, according to education minister Edouard Geffray and local authorities. The transport minister Philippe Tabarot said he was on his way to the scene.According to the prefect and state services in the Ain, the incident involved an intercity bus route in the Lent area. “Several people have been injured,” read a statement on X. “The prefect has activated the departmental operations center (COD) to coordinate the response of the various crisis management agencies. “Emergency services and law enforcement are on the scene. Local mayors are also assisting with the rescue operation.”The public has been asked to avoid the area and traffic diversions are in place.More to follow on this breaking news story....
