Several development works worth ₹31 crore launched in Yelburga

Urban Development Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah and Higher Education Minister Basavaraj Rayaraddi taking part in a bhoomi puja during the foundation stone-laying ceremony for development works in Yelburga town of Koppal district on Sunday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT Foundation stones were laid and several development works worth ₹31 crore were inaugurated in Yelburga town on Sunday.The programme, organised by the Koppal district administration and Yelburga Town Panchayat at the open-air theatre in the town, saw the launch of various civic, educational and public infrastructure projects.Urban Development Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah inaugurated the programme by watering a sapling.Higher Education Minister Basavaraj Rayaraddi presided over the function.Among the major projects launched was the construction of the Sangolli Rayanna Stadium at an estimated cost of ₹8.50 crore.A bhoomi puja was also performed for the construction of a Praja Soudha building to be built at a cost of ₹16 crore.Foundation stones were laid for the installation of a statue of Sri Jagajyoti Basaveshwara at a cost of ₹1.15 crore and for the construction of Sri Beeralingeshwara community hall for the Kuruba community at a cost of ₹1 crore.The programme also saw the inauguration of several educational infrastructure projects.Four classrooms constructed at the Government Pre-University College at a cost of ₹98.4 lakh, two classrooms at the Government Girls Pre-University College built at a cost of ₹49.5 lakh and four classrooms at the Government Girls Pre-University College constructed at a cost of ₹98.4 lakh were inaugurated.The building of the Government Urdu High School, constructed at a cost of ₹2 crore, were also inaugurated.Lok Sabha member from Koppal K. Rajshekhar Basavaraj Hitnal, Koppal Deputy Commissioner Suresh B. Itnal, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Varnit Negi and Superintendent of Police Sahil Bagla were among those present.
