Late-night hosts recapped Donald Trump’s recent comments on Elon Musk and the physical attractiveness of numerous male candidates in the upcoming US midterms.Seth MeyersSeth Meyers opened Tuesday’s Late Night with a nod to the world champion New York Knicks, who kicked off their season that evening with a ceremony to raise their NBA championship banner at Madison Square Garden. “Meanwhile, over at the Brooklyn Nets stadium, they raised a ‘help wanted’ sign,” Meyers quipped. The president, meanwhile, said in a post on Truth Social that the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool was repaired, 70% filled with water and “looking good”.“Oh man, well, you keep us posted,” Meyers laughed. “I think Trump missed his calling as a condo board president. ‘The koi pond is almost filled and the new mailbox keys are in, come find me when you can.’”Similarly, at an executive order signing ceremony at the White House, Trump praised the Rose Garden and said “that stone is so beautiful”.“Said reporters: that’s RFK Jr,” Meyers quipped. In other White House news, according to numerous reports, Trump is considering several replacements for former White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, including the New York Yankees president, Randy Levine. “Because any time someone goes 17 years without winning a championship, you gotta capture that magic,” Meyers joked. And at a recent White House science summit, Trump praised Elon Musk and said “quite honestly, there’s nobody like him”.Meyers made an edit: “I read that wrong – nobody likes him.”The Daily ShowAnd on the Daily Show, Michael Kosta checked in with Trump’s efforts on the midterm campaign trail. “As we all know, he has a very important day job looking for things on the map to rename,” he joked. “But with the midterms in the home stretch, he’s also been holding daily rallies in support of embattled Republican candidates. And lately, he’s hit upon a very interesting observation about many of these men.”Kosta then played several recent clips of Trump referring to the physical appearance of male candidates, calling them “good looking”, “beautiful looking”, or in the case of Ohio Senate candidate John Husted, “I started examining his body, because I didn’t know he was a great athlete … I looked at his ass.”“Yes, you live your truth, Donald!” Kosta joked. “It doesn’t matter what anyone says! You find a man with a nice tight ass and take him dancing in your big gay ballroom.“And Maga, if you’re upset by this, you are the ones who love Trump because he ‘says whatever he’s thinking’,” he added. “But that’s a double-edged sword. Because sometimes you get ‘I hate immigrants’, and sometimes you get ‘reincarnate me as a desk chair so this guy can sit on my face all day’.“But if Donald Trump is not secretly gay, what he definitely is, is an 80-year-old man,” Kosta continued. “That’s the age where the filter starts to slip and grandpa just says out loud anything that pops into his head.”Kosta made sure to caveat, there’s “nothing wrong with being an ass guy, OK? But Trump has now spent more time thinking about this guy’s butt than how to end the Iran war,” so he had some advice: “Mr President, rub one out and get back to work!”
