In a move that has sparked widespread speculation across the media scene in Serbia, Portuguese media entrepreneur Pedro Vargas Santos David was registered as a director of four companies on Monday – Adria News, United Media Digital, Adria News Nova S, and Dan Graf. The companies run the N1 and Nova S television stations in Serbia, news website Nova.rs, daily newspapers Nova and Danas, weekly magazine Radar and the Serbian edition of Forbes. These outlets’ directors were dismissed. All of the media outlets operate within Adria News Network, owned by the Luxembourg-registered United Group. International investment group Alpac Capital and Summer Parent, the ultimate shareholder of United Group, initially confirmed back in May that an agreement had been reached for the sale of Adria News Network.
