State boards, CBSE, ICSE and individual schools may follow different schedules. The festival marks the birth of Lord Krishna. Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14 will bring a holiday to schools in several western and southern states. Maharashtra schools may have additional days off around Ganesh Chaturthi and Ganesh Visarjan, depending on their individual calendars.Gujarat will also have holidays around Samvatsari, while Bihar and Assam may observe Vishwakarma Puja.LONG WEEKENDS INCLUDING SUNDAYS Schools following a standard Monday-to-Saturday schedule will remain closed on September 6, 13, 20 and 27, which fall on Sundays.
