Sennheiser has introduced the Momentum True Wireless 5 with user-replaceable batteries in both the buds and the case. The new earbuds let you replace batteries in "minutes" using only a small screwdriver, according to the company. Sennheiser tells How-To Geek it will share prices for replacement batteries soon, and that they will have a "reasonable cost" with a "frictionless" purchasing experience. It should be more affordable to swap batteries yourself than to buy a whole new set of earbuds. Bluetooth 6.0 arrives alongside support for fast-pairing with Android and Windows devices, and you can expect support for aptX Lossless audio, a game-ready low-latency mode, and spatial audio. These aren't the first wireless earbuds with replaceable batteries. Fairphone's Fairbuds allow for replacements, for instance. The option is nonetheless a relative novelty, particularly in premium models. That makes the price easier to justify. While you're spending more upfront than on the AirPods Pro 3 or Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, you might save money in the long term by keeping the Sennheiser earbuds alive for a few years longer.
