FILE PHOTO LIMAY, Bataan — Police arrested a 64-year-old man and seized suspected shabu worth more than P304,000 and an unlicensed firearm during an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Lamao on Saturday, July 18. Police Maj. Jimmy Albert Decin, chief of the Limay Municipal Police Station, said operatives, in coordination with the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, arrested the suspect, who was allegedly known in the community as a drug dealer. Authorities withheld his identity pending the filing of charges. Article continues after this advertisement Confiscated from the suspect were 44.83 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P304,844, a .38-caliber revolver bearing the marking “Smith & Wesson” but without a serial number, assorted drug paraphernalia, a sling bag, a weighing scale, and a spent slug of an undetermined caliber. About two months ago, Limay Mayor Richie Jason David coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to conduct random drug tests on municipal employees and barangay officials following reports of the alleged proliferation of shabu, including in remote villages. The random drug testing resulted in 15 individuals testing positive for illegal drug use.
