Selma Blair Shares Why She's Stopped Drinking AlcoholSelma Blair is ready to say her piece about a troubling incident. Nearly two weeks after the Legally Blonde actress was arrested for allegedly attacking the crew of a cross-country Delta flight on Oct. 11, she spoke out about the ordeal. “Hi, it’s me. And I know I’ve been quiet for a couple of weeks since October 11th and you deserve to hear from me directly and I’m sorry that it’s taken this long,” Blair said in an Oct. 30 Instagram video. “There is a legal matter going on and my lawyers have asked me to not say anything about that day and I’m listening to them and I take this very seriously.” “What I can tell you, though, is very simple, and the truest thing I know about myself, and that not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life,” she added. “To the people that I disappointed, that I hurt, that I frightened, alarmed, I am so sorry.” The 54-year-old—who shares 15-year-old son Arthur with ex Jason Bleick—also thanked those who showed their support following the aftermath of the incident.“And to the people that have written, or called, or sent wishes of love or caring,” she said, “it has meant everything to me and my son, who is my world, as is [Blair’s service dog] Scout, who is also okay.” She continued, “So right now I’m going to be taking care of my health and my son, and thinking of you all with gratitude and love.”Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images for Vanity FairBlair was arrested after allegedly attacking crew while onboard a Delta Airlines flight traveling between Los Angeles and New York City, the New York Port Authority confirmed to E! News. Blair was taken into custody, according to the NY Port Authority, and transported to the hospital for evaluation after the flight. (Two flight attendants have reported injuries, and one was also transported to the hospital for further evaluation.) Following the incident, Delta Airlines told E! News in a statement that the company “has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first." The actress pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault.Monica Schipper/WireImageNearly one week after the altercation, Blair’s rep clarified what led to the alleged outburst. "Selma Blair experienced a medical emergency on the flight," the rep said in a statement to E! News Oct. 16. "There was no attempt to open the door of the aircraft. Selma did not intend to harm anyone. The suggestion by anyone, that Selma does not have multiple sclerosis is outrageous. Her diagnosis has been public since 2018.” And while Blair continues in the legal dispute, the rep just asks that onlookers keep an open mind until they have all the info. “There is much more to this story than has been reported,” the statement added, “and we ask to consider the entirety of the facts before rushing to judgment, whether in the courtroom or in the court of public opinion.”For the latest breaking news updates, click here to download the E!
