The Tar Heels have a shot at improving to 3-0, while the Tigers are two weeks removed from a crushing loss against LSU.Clemson went to Chapel Hill and crushed North Carolina 38-10 last season. However, the first two weeks of the 2026 season project a much tighter matchup this weekend.Kalshi ranks among the best prediction markets because users can view historical trading data to see how a market has shifted in recent weeks. Later that night, Clemson got thoroughly dominated by LSU in coach Lane Kiffin’s Baton Rouge debut. LSU annihilated Clemson 51-10, and the score would’ve been worse had Swinney’s squad not scored a garbage-time touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Clemson was held to 145 total yards and a 7.7% third-down conversion rate while allowing an astonishing 309 rushing yards.The trading volume for North Carolina vs. Clemson began to even out not long after that game. For a short period, the Tar Heels were favorites on the moneyline, reaching as high as 56% in the game winner market.Belichick’s first season on a college sideline in 2025 was a disaster, but North Carolina is off to a 2-0 start in 2026, including victories over TCU and East Tennessee State. Clemson rebounded from the LSU defeat with an uninspiring win against Georgia Southern. However, the market sentiment has shifted back in the Tigers’ favor ahead of tomorrow’s matchup.According to the college football prediction markets at Kalshi, Clemson is a 4.5-point favorite with a 60% chance to win. Why Clemson could winProbability: 60% at KalshiClemson has dominated its ACC rival for decades. The Tigers have won seven straight in the series and are 12-2 against the Tar Heels since 1999.It’s been tough sledding for the Clemson offense. Clemson ranks last in the ACC in total yards (492) and points per game (16) while allowing more tackles for loss than any team in the nation. The Tigers were limited to 10 points in a blowout loss to LSU, then put up 22 points in a Week 2 victory against Georgia Southern. In an attempt to spark the offense, coach Dabo Swinney is benching QB Christopher Vizzina in favor of freshman Tait Reynolds. The former three-star recruit played most of Week 2 after Vizzina left with an injury, completing 59.3% of his passes for 178 yards. Neither QB has inspired hope, but Dabo is banking on a new full-time signal caller to provide a jolt.Third-year WR T.J. Moore’s 11 catches for 134 yards is one of the few bright spots. Fellow wideout Bryant Wesco Jr. is the only other pass catcher with more than 25 yards. Clemson’s defense couldn’t stop a nosebleed against LSU, but the UNC offense doesn’t have nearly as many explosive playmakers. The Tigers severely limited Georgia Southern’s rushing attack, and doing the same to the Tar Heels would force QB Billy Edwards Jr. into obvious passing situations. If Clemson forces turnovers, the offense would benefit greatly from positive field position. Edwards Jr. has yet to throw a pick, but the Tar Heels lost two fumbles in the low-scoring win against TCU. Why North Carolina could winProbability: 40% at KalshiThings got extremely ugly in Chapel Hill last season. North Carolina posted a 4-8 record against a weak ACC schedule, including blowout losses to TCU, UCF, Clemson and NC State. The Tar Heels aren’t conference championship contenders, but the team has improved dramatically in 2026. Belichick’s defense is tied for fifth nationally in points allowed per game (6.5) and has yet to surrender more than 2.7 yards per carry through two weeks.North Carolina’s offense is better than anticipated in the early going. Edwards Jr. has thrown for 476 yards and two touchdowns, while TE Jelani Thurman’s 165 receiving yards are the sixth-most in the conference. The WR corps will be shorthanded in Week 3, as C.J. Sadler is listed as out on the ACC Student-Athlete Availability Report. Sadler’s 73 receiving yards are the third-most for the Tar Heels.North Carolina can remain undefeated if the offense limits mistakes.
