The latest developments come amid a wider security clampdown in the capital, with the police restricting demonstrations in New Delhi.The Delhi Police had denied permission for the CJP’s proposed October 10 protest on Friday (October 9, 2026), citing non-compliance with an undertaking given during an earlier protest, short notice, the requirement to submit an application at least 10 days in advance and concerns over law and order and traffic management.Mr. Das had submitted an ‘intimation letter’ to the police regarding the proposed demonstration on October 7.
