A school van carrying students was attacked with stones, allegedly by a group of men part of Kanwar Yatra, in the Chowk police station limits in Lucknow on Monday (August 3, 2026).Locals alleged the attack occurred as most of the students in the van were from a minority community.Lucknow police said necessary legal action is being taken.“Upon receiving the information, the Chowk police station immediately arrived at the scene. No children were reported injured in the incident. Based on CCTV footage and other evidence, the individuals involved have been identified and necessary legal action is being taken as per the law,” reads a police statement.
