School employee charged with possessing child, animal abuse material

A school employee is behind bars after police allegedly seized devices containing child and animal abuse material from his home in far west NSW.Sex Crimes Squad detectives arrested the 24-year-old man at a school in the Bourke Shire on Tuesday.Aaron Hatch was taken to Bourke Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of possessing child abuse material, two counts of possessing animal sexual abuse material and one count of possessing animal crush material.NSW Police said in a statement that a report about the detection of child abuse material led them to an account holder in the state's north west. It said the arrest was part of an ongoing investigation into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children on the internet and through telecommunications devices. The NSW Department of Education has been contacted for comment.Mr Hatch has been refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Bourke Local Court in September.
