Scarlett Moffat reveals ‘horrific’ second pregnancy and heartbreaking reason she postponed wedding to fiancé Scott

SHE may already have parenting down, but Scarlett Moffatt says she had no clue what was in store when she fell pregnant for the second time. She continued: “With Jude, I was lured into a false sense of security – I kept thinking that all my friends who were pregnant were dead winghy because I had no morning sickness or any symptoms other than the fact I could feel him moving about. After going through an emergency C-section with Jude back in 2023 – something she admits is firmly ‘blocked out’ of her memory – Scarlett is doing her best not to stress about labour this time around. “I’ve learned that with labour you can’t have a fixed plan, you need to have a few. So, I’m not putting too much pressure on it this time,” she said. Amid growing their brood, Scarlett and Scott have also been in the throes of wedding planning following their 2023 engagement. Most read in Showbiz Despite having chosen a venue and all of the details to go with it, Scarlett says the couple made the decision to postpone their wedding last year due to Scott’s mum, Janice, suffering from ill health. While they had hoped to pick it back up again once she had recovered, the decision has been made even more painful following Janice’s sad death last month. Scarlett has been spending the summer holidays working on a new campaign with Google Gemini Credit: PA She says the platform has helped her keep toddler Jude busy Credit: PA Speaking of Janice, who battled cancer before passing, Scarlett explained: “When she got diagnosed with cancer, we – not cancelled – but postponed the wedding. “Because we were like, ‘Don’t worry, you’ll get your strengths back up and be fine’. And it looked as if she was gonna be, and then it just was really, really sudden. “She was in hospital to have an operation. She was fine, and then, all of a sudden, we got a call to go in to say goodbye to her,” the star recalled. After putting the wedding on halt, Scarlett says she and Scott are ready to pick planning up again once their little one has arrived. “I think definitely early next year, we’ll have a conversation about what we want to do. “We definitely want to get married. Everything’s booked; we’ve booked entertainers and got photographers, videographers… everything’s booked. It’s just finding the date. “I think early next year, we’ll chat to the venue and see when they have availability. I’m just so excited to get married, really.” With the wedding still a while off, Scarlett is focusing on getting through the summer holidays balancing pregnancy and a busy toddler. And to fill the days, she’s been working with Google Gemini on a new campaign dubbed ‘Gemidorm’ to fill the summer holidays with fun, using the help of the platform’s AI tool. She has been using the platform to curate summer ideas to keep Jude busy, explaining: “It’s good because you can say, ‘Give me some quick ideas to keep the kids entertained.’ “Even if I’ve not been able to do the big shop, because life’s busy or whatever, you just take a picture of what’s in your fridge, and then you send it to Gemini, and say, ‘Help me make a toddler tapas tea’. “It just takes the pressure of everything. I’ve been making personalised pictures to print off and for Jude to colour in too, which is good because it keeps him entertained.” Comment now
