Both actors have entertained moviegoers in different ways over the last 12–18 months. Johansson starred in The Phoenician Scheme and Jurassic World Rebirth in 2025, as well as made her feature directorial debut with Eleanor the Great. Elordi delivered his Oscar-nominated performance in Frankenstein before 2025 ended, then followed that up with Wuthering Heights in February. Ahead of their next movies in 2026, these Hollywood stars are reportedly gearing up to co-star in an upcoming thriller together. Deadline reports that Elordi is in talks to join Johansson in A24’s Scapegoat. Ari Aster is directing the feature from a script that he wrote. No specific Scapegoat plot details have been revealed yet, as there are different claims regarding what it will be about. Some of the alleged story possibilities include “a doctor who operates on an internet-famous person,” a "sci-fi romance,” and a “traditional drama.” Scapegoat being set up at A24 continues the streak of the production company releasing all of Aster’s movies. The filmmaker first delivered Hereditary in 2018, then followed it with 2019’s Midsommar, 2023’s Beau is Afraid, and 2025’s Eddington. Johansson’s casting in Scapegoat was announced in May, with Aster reportedly wanting her to lead the thriller from the start, and it’s said he felt the same way about having Elordi as her co-star. Production is expected to begin later this year. This story is developing...
