Rajpal Yadav has been in legal trouble for Rs 9 crore debt case and was even sentenced three months jail by the Supreme Court. The dispute dates back to 2010, when Rajpal Yadav borrowed close to Rs. 5 crore from a Delhi-based firm to finance his directorial debut, 'Ata Pata Laapata'. The comedy film failed to perform as expected at the box office, leaving the actor unable to generate sufficient returns to repay the loan. Over time, the outstanding amount reportedly increased because of interest and additional charges, eventually reaching nearly Rs 9 crore. As per the hearing on September 15, the court had given interim relief and exempted from jail and was asked to deposit Rs 5 crore. However, as per the hearing which took place today, October 5, the actor has not complied by the court's orders.
