SC panel member tells teachers to get dilapidated school buildings repaired

Member of the A.P. State Commission for Scheduled Castes Ravada Seetharam on Wednesday asked headmasters and teachers to accord top priority to the safety of children and immediately bring to the government’s notice any dilapidated buildings or structures so that renovation works could be taken up on a war-footing.Mr. Seetharam consoled the family members of Class X student Tupakula Arunkumar, who died recently after a compound wall collapsed at a government school in Saluru.Speaking to the media here, Mr. Seetharam said he had interacted with the bereaved family on the advice of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who was shocked by the incident.Later, Mr. Seetharam inspected social welfare hostels and schools at Boddavalasa in Saluru mandal. A few students complained that the quality of food served at the hostels was not up to the mark despite repeated requests to the authorities.Mr. Seetharam said the government was releasing funds promptly for the supply of nutritious food and proper maintenance of hostels and schools.
