Sayyid Badr meets Indian counterpart, discusses maritime navigation

Manila: Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, met Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, in Manila on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting marking the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).The two Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to continuing coordination to restore the smooth flow of maritime navigation and supply chains through the Strait of Hormuz. They also stressed the importance of de-escalation, reducing tensions, and addressing all outstanding issues through dialogue, peaceful means and consensual solutions among all parties.The meeting was attended by Eng Nasser Almanwari, Oman’s Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, and officials from both countries.
