SAVERS have only days left to get £175 in free cash from making a simple bank switch. Bank of Scotland is running the switching offer until August 4 for new customers opening a Classic, Silver or Platinum account. To get the free cash, you’ll need to switch from a bank account you already have open using the Current Account Switching Service. You’ll also need to transfer a minimum of three active direct debits to your new account. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! If you meet all the conditions you’ll get the £175 within 14 working days of your switch starting. So if you start your switch today, you’ll get the cash by August 20. Each of the Bank of Scotland accounts give you up to 15% cashback when you spend with certain retailers. You can also earn interest on your balance up to £5,000 if you sign up to the Vantage add-on. The Classic account is fee-free, but you’ll have to pay for the Silver and Platinum accounts as they give you extra benefits. For example, with Silver you can get AA Breakdown Family Cover, European family travel insurance and mobile phone insurance for £11.50 a month. Most read in Money With Platinum, you get worldwide multi-trip travel insurance cover for your family plus all the other benefits for £22.50 a month. How to get the offer It’s simple to get the free cash as it can be done through the Current Account Switch Service Credit: PA You’ll need to switch from a bank account held with another bank using the Current Account Switch Service. This means your old account will be closed and all your transactions will be transferred over. To qualify, you must transfer a minimum of three active direct debits. Any direct debits set up after your switch has been started won’t count towards the offer. You also won’t be eligible if you switch from a Halifax or Lloyds current account, or if you’re switching from a different Bank of Scotland account. You can’t have received a switching offer since January 1, 2023 for switching to any Lloyds, Bank of Scotland or Halifax current account. This is also the case if you’re switching to a joint account and one of the holders has already received a switching offer. The offer is not available for Student Current Accounts, Smart Start, Under 19s or Basic Accounts. You can open your new account online, in a Bank of Scotland branch or by phone. Bank account switches take seven working days. Remember that you'll need to sort these MANY of your payments will be switched automatically, but you'll still need to sort these yourself...
