Savannah Guthrie Shares New Post Asking for Information About Her Mother’s Disappearance: ‘We Ache for Her, We Cry Out for Answers’

Savannah Guthrie has taken to social media to urge anyone with knowledge about her mother, Nancy, who was presumed kidnapped in February and has yet to be found, to come forward. Guthrie shared a drawing to her Instagram account done by her daughter that shows an umbrella, raindrops and the text: “I know it might not seem like it, but I really need my mommy.” Accompanying the photo was a caption, in which Gutherie wrote that the drawing “says so much about how I feel.” “The world goes on, things appear ‘normal’ – as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids – but it’s not and it never will be,” Guthrie’s caption continued. “For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and for all of mom’s beloved grandchildren: we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know. Our mom was a light in this world. We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us.” She concluded: “Thank you to all those who have been kind and shown the best of humanity. Join us in praying without ceasing.” In August, Guthrie shared a post to commemorate 6 months since her mother was kidnapped. “We have lived every moment, every breath, and every heartbeat in agony and despair ever since,” she wrote. “Every day, we wake up and try to be strong and go on — because that’s what our joyful and resilient Mom taught us to do.” One month before that, Guthrie had posted a video to Instagram directly addressing her mother’s kidnappers. “I’m coming on today with a very specific message. It has been months since our mom was taken from us. Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed,” the “Today” host said. “We have done our part, and we will never stop looking for her. We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts.” Nancy went missing on Feb. 1 after she missed her usual Sunday church service. The next day, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department called her disappearance a presumed kidnapping after they found concerning evidence at her home in Tucson, Ariz. The FBI joined in the search for Nancy and posted a $100,000 reward for information leading to her recovery. It was later increased to $200,000 and then $1 million on Feb. 24.
