Dubbed the 'Sausage Smuggler', police said that CCTV showed Haydon Lucas had struck a BP petrol station in Newbury, Berkshire, to steal almost £600 worth of meat. Lucas, 30, has been charged with four counts of shoplifting, returning weekly at first and then twice within four days.After being arrested on October 6 following an investigation led by the Newbury Neighbourhood Policing team, he has been freed on bail.He is due to appear at Slough Magistrates' Court on November 5. Dubbed the 'Sausage Smuggler', police said that CCTV showed Haydon Lucas had struck a BP petrol station in Newbury, Berkshire It is alleged that Lucas stole almost £600 worth of meat from the petrol stationA statement posted online by Thames Valley Police said: 'Some criminals think outside the box. This one thought inside the trousers. 'After repeatedly stealing meat products from BP London Road, Newbury, a suspect was arrested following enquiries by officers.'CCTV showed packs of sausages being concealed down clothing before leaving without payment, taking 'handling stolen goods' to a whole new low.'Turns out there are easier ways to get yourself on a police social media page.
