Saudi Arabia strikes Huthi targets in Yemen after vessel was attacked in Red Sea

Fayez Nureldine/AFP/Getty Images/File Saudi Arabia carried out strikes against what it said were Huthi targets in Yemen’s port city of Hodeidah after a Saudi vessel was attacked in the Red Sea on Friday. In a statement, Saudi Arabia’s Coalition Joint Forces Command described the strikes as a “proportionate military response.” The coalition spokesperson, Staff Major General Turki al-Malki, called the Huthi attacks in the Red Sea a “cowardly and reckless act.” Al-Malki said that the port at Hodeidah was not targeted in the strikes. Earlier, the Houthi-affiliated al-Masirah television reported that a worker at a telecommunications building in Hodeidah was injured in the Saudi strike. Back to top button
