Satya Niketan building collapse: Delhi HC to hear PIL today

Rescue operations still under way as a building collapsed at Satya Niketan in New Delhi on September 7, 2026. | Photo Credit: Shashi Shekhar Kashyap The Delhi High Court on Monday (September 7, 2026) agreed to hear a fresh public interest litigation (PIL) in connection with the building collapse in South West Delhi’s Satya Niketan that has left six people dead, several injured.Delhi building collapse updates on September 7, 2026The building, which housed a boys’ paying guest accommodation near Delhi University’s South Campus, collapsed around 1.30 p.m. on Sunday (September 6, 2026) while repair work was underway.Multiple agencies, including the Delhi Police, Delhi Fire Service, National Disaster Response Force and Delhi Disaster Management Authority, have been carrying out rescue operations through the night.An FIR under Sections 105, 290 and 125 (a) BNS have been registered against the building owner Hariram Bansal and others. The building houses a PG accommodation named Hostel Daze.
