Satheesan’s claim on Munambam Waqf is pipe dream: Indian National League

The Indian National League (INL) has said that Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan’s claim that the Munambam issue will be resolved in 10 minutes once a Congress-led United Democratic Front’s (UDF) appointed Waqf Board assumes power is nothing more than an unachievable pipe dream.His long-term plan to seize Munambam by restructuring the Waqf Board is merely the cheap babble of an unrealistic political leader, INL State general secretary Kasim Irikkur said.In a statement in Kozhikode, he said that Mr. Satheesan’s plan to implement his agenda by allowing non-Muslim members into the Board under the cover of the RSS-backed Waqf Amendment Act of 2025 collapsed before the Supreme Court. Yet, he continues to harbour daydreaming about Munambam due to his sheer ignorance regarding the inseparable bond between Waqf and the Muslim community.Except for the Indian Union Muslim League which, fearing the Enforcement Directorate that dances to the tunes of the Sangh Parivar, the Muslims of Keralam stand united in acknowledging that the 400-plus acres of land gifted by the philanthropist Siddique Sait to Farook College is indeed Waqf property, he alleged.​If Mr. Satheesan believes he can prove Munambam is not Waqf land and grab it by aligning with the RSS, CASA, and Muslim League leaders, he is living in a fool’s paradise, Mr. Irikkur said.He said that Mr. Satheesan was nobody to the secular and minority communities here who resolutely fought against the ruling Sangh Parivar at the Centre.Those who have studied the issue know well who partitioned the Waqf property illegally and how many proxies of big-shots are involved.
