With the opening Test scheduled for August 15, the Mumbai batter is back in the Test set-up almost two years after his last appearance.The 28-year-old has featured in six Tests so far, accumulating 371 runs at 37.10, with one century and three fifties. His standout performance came in Bengaluru against New Zealand in October 2024, when he hit a career-best 150 in a stunning response after India had been dismissed for just 46 in their first innings. That innings, however, did not lead to a sustained run in the team. Sarfaraz’s most recent Test came against New Zealand in Mumbai in November 2024. Although he remained on the fringes of the national set-up for some time, opportunities became increasingly scarce before he eventually lost his place in the squad.However, that didn't stop Sarfaraz from working hard. He underwent a physical transformation, losing around 17 kgs.
