Sarah taken to task amid fresh Charity ordeal as Emmerdale spoilers reveal what happens next | Deputy Soaps Editor Published September 11, 2026 8:10pm Sarah is targeted by everyone in a bid to help Charity, who endures another ordeal in prison (Picture: ITV / Metro) Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) was left scratching his head in Emmerdale after failing to get through to Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), who is refusing to change her statement which landed Charity (Emma Atkins) in prison. Earlier this week, Sarah went to the police to deliberately incriminate Charity in the murder of Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) – a crime she carried out herself – in a bid to punish her gran for lying about baby Leyla’s paternity. With insurmountable evidence against her, Charity was charged with murder – despite her claims of self-defence – and thrown in prison, much to the horror of her loved ones. Knowing only Cain could get through to stubborn Sarah, Charity had Mackenzie Boyd (Lawerence Robb) hand him the St Christopher medal, which left the Dingle patriarch knowing what to do. After Charity caught him up on the truth about Leyla and Sarah’s role in Todd’s demise, Cain turned his attention to his granddaughter, urging her to change her statement and stop punishing her gran, who has only ever tried to protect her. When appealing to her heart failed, Cain reminded Sarah of what Todd put Charity through, which perhaps summoned a bolt of guilt in Sarah. Nonetheless, she refused to budge, leaving Cain at a loss of how to get her to see sense. If you’re eager to know what’s on the cards for next week then you’re in the right place, as I’ve got a first look at Monday’s visit to the village. What happens next in Emmerdale? Can Sarah’s loved ones make her see sense? (Picture: ITV) With Sarah refusing once again, Mack threatens to expose Sarah’s crimes and Leyla’s paternity to Jacob.
