While new smartwatches have come and gone, we have seen a resurgence in fitness trackers, with brands like Google and Garmin introducing new products in order to revitalize the market. These products have been interesting, but we think Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Fit 4 could take the crown if this one feature makes its way to the device. According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Fit 4 may be able to make payments using Samsung Wallet via NFC. This is what we've been asking for Credit: Samsung This hasn't been confirmed on the physical device, but the Galaxy Fit4 Manager app can now be seen in the Galaxy Store, giving us a glimpse of what to expect. If you look closely at one of the screenshots provided, you can see an option for Wallet at the very bottom. Because of this, SamMobile thinks the upcoming device could make payments at supported terminals using NFC. If so, this could be a huge feature that's missing from a lot of fitness wearables at the moment. The competition won't have this Google introduced its new Fitbit Air and Edge fitness trackers recently, and neither of them has the ability to make payments at supported retail terminals. In 2026, that's expected, especially from a company like Google, which has a robust card management app like Google Wallet. Garmin's CIRQA is also in the same boat, lacking NFC and any way to make a payment using Garmin Pay. This feels like such a missed opportunity. Maybe ten years ago this would have felt normal, but with so many brands going cashless, it makes sense to have a payment method on your wearable. Naturally, adding this would increase the device's cost, which all brands are trying to keep fairly low. The Fitbit Air retails for $100, and the Fitbit Edge comes in at $180. The Garmin CIRQA is priced at $200, which is already creeping into smartwatch pricing. If Samsung can pull off the Wallet on the Galaxy Fit 4 at a great price, it could be a winner. We've been getting bits and pieces of information from across the internet. As for the design, it looks identical to the previous model. This isn't a bad thing, since most of the hardware is the screen. It will be interesting to see whether Samsung makes any other notable hardware changes to this device. Again, price will also be a factor, but if previous MSRPs are any indication, this should be affordable.
