This pint-sized Poirot was the whistleblower who exposed Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) as a predator who had been sexually abusing Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) Unfortunately, Sam paid the price for his bravery. Unfortunately, the damage that Megan did to Sam’s psyche would be lasting. The trauma pushed the troubled teen into a full-on psychotic breakdown, which manifested as a hallucination of an evil Roy Cropper (David Neilson). (Picture: ITV) Fortunately, Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King), a fellow sufferer of psychosis, was able to see the signs and stop Sam from doing any damage to Roy,who he firmly believed was trying to hurt everybody. This led to the tragic sectioning of Sam, and his schizophrenia diagnosis broke the heart of his father, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), who realised just how life changing the illness could prove to be. In tear-jerking scenes that made us all bawl, Nick was forced to lie to Sam about where they were going as he drove him to the hospital. Despite Sam’s pleas to be taken home, a distraught Nick allowed the staff to take him in for his own good, to give Sam the help he desperately needed. Determined to see justice served, he requested to attend Megan Walsh’s trial, despite the potential risks to his recovery. With the help of his family, he found the strength to help Will expose the abuser once and for all.However, Sam’s road to recovery is still a long and treacherous one, and he’s about to experience a major setback in upcoming episodes of Coronation Street.
