Samay Raina picks Medha Shankr as his best friend amid dating buzz

Samay Raina and Medha Shankr have been giving the rumour mill plenty to work with for months. Now, a playful moment on the latest episode of India’s Got Latent 2 has added another little twist to the conversation. When magician Kabir Sharma asked Samay to pick his closest friend from the panel, the comedian did not take long to name Medha.The moment came in the middle of one of Kabir’s tricks. He had taken Samay’s phone, sealed it inside one of three envelopes and was smashing the envelopes with a hammer whenever Samay gave a wrong answer. Amid the chaos, Kabir brought up Samay’s close friend Balraj Singh Ghai, who was not on the panel that day.“Aapke favourite friend nahi aaye aaj, Balraj. But aaj aapke panel mein se aapka sabse accha dost kaun hai (Your favourite friend Balraj isn’t here today. But who is your best friend on the panel today?)” Kabir asked. Samay picked Medha, who was then asked to choose one of the envelopes.Medha also found herself at the centre of another trick later in the episode. Samay picked her to receive a mystery gift, with the options including a car, a MacBook, $1,000 and an iPhone. The actual prize, however, turned out to be a hug from Kabir. Samay and Varun Dhawan looked visibly surprised, while Medha seemed perfectly happy with what she got. Kabir even joked that the hug was meant for her. Samay turned to Medha and quipped, “A hug. We won literally the worst thing.” She, however, was not complaining and called it a “pretty good” hug.It was the kind of silly, harmless exchange that India’s Got Latent does best. But given the attention around Samay and Medha’s equation, his choice of her as his “sabse achhi dost” naturally stood out.Are Samay and Medha dating? The two have been at the centre of dating speculation for some time, although neither has confirmed that they are in a relationship. Their easy friendship and repeated appearances in the same places have kept the rumours alive.Medha is not the only actor in Samay’s close circle. He also shares a friendship with Varun Dhawan.
