On July 31, it was reported by Deadline that the MCU's first X-Men reboot character had been cast, with Samara Weaving playing Emma Frost. According to the trade, she landed the role after an extensive process to find the right actor and delivering an audition that "was too hard to beat." Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the casting yet. Meanwhile, her right arm and right side of the face transform into her diamond form. The caption says, "I love Samara Weaving, I also love Emma Frost, so naturally I love Samara Frost." Check out the art below: Emma Frost, who was first introduced in The Uncanny X-Men #129, is a mutant who is telepathic and can turn into diamond. A live-action version of the character previously appeared in 2011's X-Men: First Class, where she was played by January Jones. While she has been both a villain and a hero in the comics, she was an antagonist acting as the right-hand to Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon) in First Class. She was freed from prison by Magneto/Erik Lehnsherr at the end of the movie, but in the sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past, she was revealed to have been killed in the years after her escape. As the first actor reportedly attached to Jake Schreier's MCU X-Men movie, Weaving's casting is a major step forward for the project. An official release date has not been revealed yet, but the movie is anticipated to be a vital part of the post-Avengers: Secret Wars slate during Phase 7, which so far includes 2028's Ghost Rider starring Ryan Gosling and Black Panther 3 starring David Jonsson.
