Actor Samantha will headline Celebrity MasterChef Tamil. The reality draws on the global legacy of the MasterChef format while creating an experience the makers described as distinctly Tamil. It is built around local flavours, familiar personalities and the chemistry of Tamil celebrity culture.According to a press release, Celebrity MasterChef Tamil will see some of Tamil entertainment’s most recognisable personalities take on demanding culinary challenges, unexpected twists and the pressure of creating dishes that win both the challenge and the audience. The makers said the show will combine celebrity, food and competition in a format designed around local flavour and familiar faces.The makers also said the programme will be a key entertainment offering on Sony VIZHA and will extend across Sony LIV and digital platforms. It will also feature exclusive short-form content that will take viewers beyond the main episodes and closer to the celebrities, their culinary journeys, challenges and memorable moments in the kitchen.Speaking about the show, Samantha said, “I’m incredibly excited to finally share this with everyone. She shared the news during the success meet of her latest release, Maa Inti Bangaaram, in Hyderabad, where the 39-year-old actor also said she would be taking a break from work and going on maternity leave. At the event, Samantha said, “Sorry guys, one more small gap and then I will be back. I know I have to take maternity leave now. But I am very happy.” Her confirmation came after days of speculation following videos from the film’s celebration, where fans noticed her in a white T-shirt with a visible baby bump.
