Salman Khan responded to trolls who claimed he was scared after he backed the student protests over the alleged NEET paper leak at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. A day after his original post on the issue, the 60-year-old shared two shirtless photos and used the caption to answer the criticism directly.In the pictures posted in the wee hours of Saturday, the Maatrubhumi actor is seen posing in front of a mirror in a gym, bare-chested, with a towel on his head.In the caption, he wrote, “Salman Khan darrrr gaya...Hmmm joe darr gaya vo mar gaya (Salman Khan got scared. He who fears, dies). (sic)” In an earlier post, the 60-year-old had appealed to students protesting the alleged leak to return home. He said they should not have to worry about their safety or leave their parents anxious.Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s post on setting up fast-track courts to punish those behind the alleged leak, Salman wrote, “The students are at top priority, educationally and security-wise, so they need not worry and have their parents worried for them. The Honourable Prime Minister has tweeted, and I am sure that he will take strict action against all those people who are responsible for this leak. So students, please go back to your parents and homes (sic).”Message to Sonam Wangchuk Salman Khan also addressed social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike for 26 days in support of the students. Urging him to end his fast, the actor wrote, “Sonam, it’s done, bro. Don’t extend this. If you want, will send u food from home (sic).”What he said earlierIn his detailed statement on Wednesday, Salman had called the alleged leak “a very serious issue”. He said the protests had begun peacefully and urged that the movement should not be politicised. He also called for a fair, transparent and merit-based education system.Salman Khan is among several film personalities who have spoken in support of the students in recent days. Actors including Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt, Rajkummar Rao, R Madhavan, John Cusack, Sonakshi Sinha, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Shabana Azmi, Prakash Raj and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap have also voiced solidarity and called for accountability over the alleged paper leak.Protests continueThe protests, led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), have continued for over a month, with students demanding action.
