Sally left injured on Coronation Street as sinister demon child Lucy lashes out

Sally sees Lucy’s dark side emerge. (Picture: ITV) You know what Coronation Street doesn’t need? Another villain, especially if they’re still going through puberty. Poor Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) That’s right. After a year of domestically abusive scaffolders, paedophile athletics coaches, revenge obsessed bunny-boilers and of course, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), there’s another big bad on the Cobbles. Well, figuratively speaking… and Sally is their target. It’s hard to imagine Sally being bullied by anyone these days. The no-nonsense Weatherfield Social climber has come a long way since she was on the receiving end of acidic barbs from Hilda Ogden (Jean Alexander) or cowering in fear of Greg Kelly (Stephen Billington). She’s no-nonsense, determined and a total busybody, which is of course, why we love her. Not only does she keep her husband nice-but-dim Tim (Joe Duttine) in line, but she’s tough enough to take on a house full of foster-kids. Tim and Sally can survive anything, right? Right?! (Picture: ITV) However Sal may have bitten off more than she can chew this time. When Tim’s reunion with his cousin, Richie (Nathan Sussex) ended in the killer cuz bumping off his wife Rachel seemingly in self defence, there was another victim – Richie’s daughter Lucy Parkinson (Anya Lewis). Broken and traumatised by the traumatic event, Lucy had no other family to take her in. Because Tim was the one who encouraged Richie to go home and make amends with Rachel, he blames himself for her untimely demise. So did Lucy. The greatest villain Sally has ever faced? (Picture: ITV) That prompted a guilt-ridden Tim to take Lucy into their home so she wouldn’t end up in the system, a decision which Sally had her fair share of reservations about. Reservations which turned out to be completely warranted. Lucy’s got a nasty streak. Ask Metro Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about – powered by Metro and trusted publications. The troubled teen already attacked Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft Gardner) for calling her a freak, and lashed out at fellow Metcalfe foster child Joanie Michaelis (Savanna Pennington) for pointing out that her dad was in prison. More recently, she callously denied sweets to young Shanice Michaelis and dared her to walk alone to the shop by herself. Worse still, when Sally called her out, Lucy pinched the skin on her wrist and showed it to Tim, making out that Sally hurt her when grabbing her arm. Sally’s already had a showdown with her furious foster-daughter. (Picture: ITV) Murdered mother or not, we’ve got a right little madam on our hands here. And it’s only going to get worse. Upcoming scenes of Coronation Street will see Lucy struggle to contain her raw anger over her mother’s death… and Sally bears the brunt of her rage. When Sally reveals that she plans to attend the pub quiz, Lucy’s face darkens and she makes out she’s not feeling well. Why is she so desperate to get out of spending time with Sally. The next day, Sally looks at Lucy’s school art project and is concerned to see a picture of an angry woman, clutching her head. Curious Sally asks her if it depicts her Mum. It’s the wrong thing to say. Lucy sees red – big time. What does she do? Lucy’s art project leaves Sally deeply disturbed. (Picture: ITV) You’ll have to tune in to find out! Suffice to say, Sally is shaken up enough to show Tim the picture later and share how Lucy lost her temper. Lucy quickly apologises to Tim and gets him back onside… … but later, it’s clear that Lucy’s not sorry at all as she watches with mounting anger as Tim pulls fellow foster-kid Brody (Ryan Mulvey) in for a hug. Afterwards, Sally admits her worries to Tim, they’re not cut out to deal with Lucy and that she needs professional help. Without giving too much away, Sally’s got no idea how right she is… Deals of the Day An Instagram mattress left me with back pain – this one completely changed my mind Book Val d'Isère, Val Thorens and Tignes for less in Club Med's ski sale Save 25% on red light therapy masks, sauna blankets and sleep gadgets in Bon Charge sale The viral LED face mask with over 350 lights that's currently discounted by £100 A friend said I looked 'snatched' – I credit this new Charlotte Tilbury powder The Soaps Newsletter – Weekly Sign up for exclusive spoilers and interviews, handpicked by our Soaps Editor.
