Is Amy trapped? (Picture: BBC) EastEnders’ grotesque grooming storyline, which sees creepy copper Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) target Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd), as his indecent proposal gives way to even more manipulation. While Craig initially seemed harmless enough, his true motivations have become grotesquely clear, and his attempts to wrap Amy up in his insidious web became apparent to viewers. Today’s episode saw Amy avoid step mum Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) questions regarding the new man in her life after Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) tipped her off. Heading to meet Craig later, he smooth talked her following his discovery of her self-harm scars last week, before suggesting they spent the following night at his place…and see what happens. Amy’s face fell; the implication was perfectly clear and she was evidently deeply uncomfortable. The rest of her family were suffering, too. Craig is manipulating Amy (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Denise was wounded to learn that Darnell Larson (Christopher Colquhoun) isn’t a donor match, and though she tried to brave face it in front of Jack, she privately broke down in body-wracking sobs. Feeling written off by both Amy and Raymond, Denise admitted to Kim (Tameka Empson) and Chelsea (Zaarah Abrahams) that she felt useless, later confessing to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) that she was unsure if she could carry on in so much misery and pain. Though he told her to confide in Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), she couldn’t, instead asking Google what will happen to her if she stops her cancer treatment. Denise admitted she was considering stopping treatment to Phil (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Ask Metro Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about – powered by Metro and trusted publications. Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) was slapped in the face with a ton of unpaid bills from when she let son Harry (Elijah Holloway) run the club, and in an attempt to raise some much needed cash, Gemma Hawkins (Patricia Potter) offered the bar to Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) to use for Nugget’s (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) 18th birthday party. As Nugget and Avani (Aaliyah James) began to question Ash Panesar (Sakira Vel), though, her mum, Suki (Balvinder Sopal) eyed her suspiciously. Back at home, against wife Eve’s (Heather Peace) advice, she made contact with Ash’s wife, Gigi. Elsewhere, Peter Beale (Thomas Law) was overjoyed to learn from dad Ian (Adam Woodyatt) that he was being released from prison the following Wednesday, completely unaware that back on the Square, his wife, Lauren (Jaqueline Jossa) and Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) were searching every nook and cranny to find a place to get sweaty. What happens next in EastEnders? New spoilers for Tuesday, September 29 Craig made his intentions crystal clear (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Now having officially lost his job in the police force, Craig is utterly bereft, and Amy’s constant questioning is doing little more than irritate him. While she doesn’t know the true scope of his inappropriate behaviour, her dad, Jack does, and he shares with Callum Highway (Tony Clay) that gross misconduct was behind the sacking. Craig’s manipulation keeps Amy in line, as he paints himself as an innocent victim of injustice, who lost his job due to the actions of others, and she’s left panic-stricken when he tells her that he’s planning to leave. Deeply under his spell, how will Amy react to his plan? Suki went against Eve’s advice (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Amy’s not only dealing with drama as it pertains to Craig, it’s also coming at her thick and fast at home, and after fielding Denise’s questions yesterday, today it’s Kim’s turn to interrogate. Kim’s digging is interrupted, though, when Denise begins to feel unwell, and later, she and Amy come to blows when Amy feels Denise is shutting her out, but later she’s consoled by Ash, who overhears her and Avani going at it. Speaking of Ash, Suki continues to snoop around in her business, deeply suspicious of the reason she’s back, though her admission to Eve that she’s contacted Gigi sees Eve warn her wife to give up the search for answers. Elsewhere, Ned is intrigued to discover that a former business partner of his is back in the UK, while Lily’s clash with Jean over her university plans sees her turn to Harvey for advice.
