Credit: PA RYAN MOORE says his 12-1 York Ebor festival ride ‘definitely’ has a shot at winning – after finishing like a train at Royal Ascot. Aidan O’Brien’s No1 jockey has a colossal book of rides this week, headlined by Constitution River in the Juddmonte. Ryan Moore has tipped up 12-1 Mission Central as one who can spring a shock at York’s Ebor festival Credit: AFP Ballydoyle’s best three-year-old colt was handed a draw in stall seven for his blockbuster showdown with Ombudsman – drawn one – on Wednesday. It could be a huge hour or so for Coolmore, with Moore opting to ride Derby hero Christmas Day ahead of Pierre Bonnard in the Great Voltigeur earlier on the card. You won’t get rich backing O’Brien and Moore favourites – unless you can afford to stake huge, of course – but the jockey has one he likes at a price on Friday. Mission Central was a breathtaking winner of the King Charles III Stakes at last June’s Royal meeting. Held up and held up and held up, Moore finally let the three-year-old son of No Nay Never off the leash with around a furlong of the breakneck 5f sprint. Mission Central sprouted wings and flew home to see off Francis Graffard’s Rayevka by a head. It didn’t work out for the colt on his next run in the July Cup at Newmarket. But Moore is certain the return to a speedy five on the Knavesmire will see Mission Central back to his best. Most read in Horse Racing The World Pool ambassador said: “He didn’t see out six furlongs up the hill at Newmarket in the July Cup and dropping back to a flat, fast five furlongs at York will suit him really well. “He was really progressive at the start of the year and he seems in good form at home. “There’ll be pace everywhere and the draw will be important but if he gets a nice draw and a clear shot at it then he’ll definitely be thereabouts.” Moore felt similarly sure York will suit Constitution River. The Prix du Jockey Club and Coral-Eclipse superstar has been easy to back in recent days and is a general 7-4 for the 1m2f Group 1. Ombudsman, trained by John & Thady Gosden, has been well supported into 10-11. A combination of Hawk Mountain, Action and Devil’s Advocate will do the donkey work up top for the big two. And Moore is confident Constitution River won’t let him down. He added: “We’re really looking forward to it. Constitution River has done nothing wrong in his whole career. “We think York will suit him and the trip is perfect. “He’ll be taking on last year’s winner Ombudsman, who was very impressive in the Prince of Wales’s, and has also been trained with this race in mind. “It looks a really good race and it will be great to see how he measures up.” FREE BETS – GET THE BEST SIGN UP DEALS AND RACING OFFERS Commercial content notice: Taking one of the offers featured in this article may result in a payment to The Sun.
