Ryan Gosling is joining the MCU, on the heels of starring in the next Star Wars movie. The Project Hail Mary star will be reuniting with Star Wars: Starfighter director Shawn Levy for Ghost Rider, with Gosling playing the cursed stunt rider in a movie set for release in 2028. He’ll be taking on the character Johnny Blaze, first originated on screen by Nicolas Cage in two separate movies. Gosling admitted his interest in the role years ago to journalist Josh Horowitz, who then passed the message along to MCU chief Kevin Feige. This also marks yet another occasion of Gosling playing a stuntman: He previously starred in 2024’s delightful The Fall Guy, and also rode a motorcycle in 2012’s The Place Beyond the Pines. Gosling was a big part of why Project Hail Mary found blockbuster success — though his co-star Rocky also helped.
