Rutgers Baseball adds Wake Forest transfer pitcher Luke Billings

Rutgers Baseball has added yet another new addition via the Transfer Portal, as former Wake Forest pitcher Luke Billings has announced his commitment to the Scarlet Knights via social media. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounds right-handed pitcher hails from Robbinsville, New Jersey and played at Robbinsville High School before enrolling at Wake Forest as a member of the Class of 2024. As a high school senior in 2024, Billings was ranked the No. 19 overall right-handed pitcher out of New Jersey according to Perfect Game. He would go on to finish his senior season with 0.56 era and 59 strikeouts in 37 innings, while also setting the program’s career strikeout record with 185 total strikeouts. Moving on to his first year of college ball, Billings made three appearances out of the bullpen and recorded four strikeouts across two innings. He went on to miss the entire 2026 season due to Tommy John surgery.
