Russia’s Overnight Attack Kills 2, Injures 11 Across Ukraine as Zaporizhzhia Bears Brunt

Russian strikes hit Odesa warehousesOleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration (OVA), reported that warehouses belonging to a supermarket chain caught fire in the region following Russian strikes. Preliminary information indicated there were no casualties. Meanwhile, Telegram channels reported that Russian forces had attacked food warehouses belonging to the Silpo retail chain.The fire was later extinguished. Rescue operations were hampered by the threat of repeated Russian airstrikes. 172 Russian drones launched overnightAccording to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian forces launched 172 strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against Ukraine from 6 p.m. on Sept. 20.The attack involved Shahed-type drones, including 64 jet-powered drones, as well as Gerbera and Parodiya decoys and Banderol/Dan-T drones.Ukrainian Defense Forces countered the attack using aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups.Preliminary data showed that, as of 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or neutralized 147 Russian UAVs.“Enemy air assets were recorded striking 14 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at four other sites,” the Air Force said.
