She, however, disagreed with that view."I am convinced that pregnancy is not an illness. Of course, you need to consider your doctor's recommendations and how you're feeling, but movement – walking, yoga and strength training (with a specialist's approval) – help me feel better, supports my body and prepares it for childbirth," she added. Sofia also spoke about receiving comments on her clothing, with some questioning why she wore crop tops or did not cover her baby bump.Responding to the criticism, Sofia said she loved her body during pregnancy and wanted to embrace rather than hide it."Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful stages of my life. I don't want to hide my belly. On the contrary, I want to cherish this period, enjoy it and wear whatever makes me feel beautiful," she said.Sofia also described the language barrier as another significant challenge. Since English is not her first language, medical appointments could sometimes be difficult to navigate."No matter how thoroughly I prepare, I might still miss some information. Afterwards, I have to re-read medical reports, look up information on my own or ask follow-up questions. Sometimes, it's exhausting," she said.Adapting to the climate had also been difficult for Sofia, particularly in the weeks leading up to the monsoon."I wake up and make breakfast, and I'm already drenched in sweat. I take a shower. Half an hour later, I want to shower again. Going for a walk during the day is practically impossible due to the heat and humidity. And if the power goes out at night, taking the air conditioning with it, I think expectant mothers in India will know exactly what I mean," she said.Sofia has 39.2K followers on Instagram.- EndsPublished On: Jul 20, 2026 12:58 IST
