Satellite images dated Sept. 26 showed at least three large holes in the road surfaces of the bridge and an adjacent crossing, Dnipro OSINT reported. A subsequent image dated Sept. 30 showed that one of the bridge’s spans had collapsed.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. Dnipro OSINT attributed the damage to new attacks and said traffic through the area had become significantly more difficult. The Chonhar bridge is one of the main road crossings connecting Crimea with the Kherson region. Damage to the crossing could complicate the movement of Russian military cargo between the occupied peninsula and Russian-held territory in southern Ukraine.Last July Ukrainian long-range strike drones had successfully damaged the critical bridge infrastructure at the Chonhar strait, forcing Russian occupation authorities to completely shut down key transit corridors.According to reports published then by the Russian state-controlled news agency TASS, occupying forces had closed the Chonhar checkpoint on Sunday, June 7.
