An overnight Russian missile and drone barrage on Kyiv triggered a chemical emergency after a strike damaged a specialized tank containing roughly 300 liters of ammonia, city authorities reported. The container was damaged in the capital’s Holosiivskyi district, causing it to depressurize and leak ammonia. The incident unfolded during a massive combined Russian assault that struck at least seven locations across the Holosiivskyi, Obolonskyi, Desnianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. Destruction and casualties While emergency crews quickly contained the chemical threat, the wider bombardment killed at least one woman and injured 12 people. Elsewhere in Holosiivskyi, a private home was destroyed, prompting rescuers to search the rubble for people who may have been trapped beneath the debris. Among those injured across the capital was an ambulance driver whose emergency vehicle was damaged during repeated explosions at one of the strike sites. Residential buildings, warehouses and other civilian infrastructure were damaged across several districts as Russian missiles and attack drones again struck the Ukrainian capital.
